We will run the Junior hour as usual from 7PM to 8PM and then ONLY 1 Hour for the senior session 8PM - 9PM.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Whether you choose to train or stay at home, please be safe and take care when travelling in the current conditions!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;###########UPDATE############&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tonights lessons could be cancelled due to the treacherous road conditions. Maldon's two other Junior teams were James Sebborn, Sheleigh Cydesdale ans Samuel Gibbs also Scott McQuarrie and Connor and Ryan Hutchings who finished just out of the medal placing's.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;In the two person parent and child team Kata Team Gold was Paul Smith and Connor Clydesale and Silver to Steve Gibbs and Samuel Gibbs.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Thus confirming the clubs dominance in team kata with Maldon taking first place in all three events.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;In the individual Kata boys green and purple section Maldon completely dominated this group with Ben Foster taking 1st place after a initially tying with Greg Wallaker they both had to perform another kata and Ben edged it on the day Trashant Patel was placed third and James Sebborn just out of the medals by one point in fourth place.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;In the green and purple girls section Danni Clydesale took third place.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Boys yellow and orange belt Samuel Gibbs initially tied after his first kata and was placed third overall after performing a strong second kata.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;In the mixed Junior Red and White belt section identical twins Connor and Ryan Hutchings both performed the same kata and after five judges scores were checked they had tied, so they both had to repeat their kata and again recorded the same scores and had tied yet again!! so the chief judge declared it a draw and they shared the top spot with each other.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;In the senior events female yellow to purple belt Anna Christie (orange belt) took 1st place.&lt;br /&gt;Mens purple to 1st kyu Brown belt Mark Foster also took 1st place with both of them winning with excellent scores comfortably ahead of the rest of their opponents in their respective sections.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Mixed Junior and Senior Black belt section Connor Clydesale kept up his winning ways placing second and took his fourth trophy of the day and recorded the almost perfect result finishing with three gold's and one silver from the four kata events an excellent achievement.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;In the over 35 masters Kata &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Club Instructors battled it out with Paul Smith taking 2nd place , Steve Gibbs and Russ Leach tied after the first kata with Steve finally taking 3rd place and Russ Fourth.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;In the Kumite (fighting sections)  &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Scott Mcquarrie took third place in the boys 145 to 160 cm yellow to green belt section having tied on points after over time and eventually loosing on a referee's to a much taller opponent and the eventual winning finalist.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sheleigh Clydesale totally dominated all her opponents and cruised through and won the final without conceding a point and won gold convincingly.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Michael Foster (145cm purple brown and black belt sect) this was a big section and Michael overcame so tough opponents to reach the final where he faced the host clubs squad fighter, right at the start of the bout Michael took a missed placed kick to his throat ! but got back up and in a very exciting final stuck to his game plan and deservedly took the title.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Connor Clydesale Just missed out on reaching his final in a very keenly fought bout by just one score and finished joint third taking his tally to five trophies on the day.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;In the Male yellow to green belt Dave Rogers who was competing for the first time took third place in a very tough and bruising section and in the female kumite yellow to purple belt Anna Christie completed an impressive double by taking 1st place in the fighting as well as her earlier kata success an excellent achievement.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;The clubs final result came in the over 35 kumite section where Russ Leach had won through to the final to meet Colin Heath who is a previous world title winner, so Russ new he had to be at his best! in an exciting final Russ took the fight to his opponent and although loosing out on the title matched his opponent and fought very well.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Maldon finished the day with an excellent total of Ten National Titles ! seven silvers and seven bronze positions a brilliant display by our squad and just reward for all the hard training they have put in prior to the competition. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;For more information on Karate in Maldon visit our web site www.maldon-karate-club.org.uk  or contact steve.gibbshkk@hotmail.co.uk or info@maldon-karate-club.org. We had great results from our junior and senior squads and got second place in the medals table. This is a fantastic result for many juniors who had never attended before.
